Faculty Position in Astrophysics

The Institute for Astrophysics at the School of Physics, Zhengzhou University, which has been recently established, invites applications for several faculty positions of all ranks, ranging from assistant to full professor. We welcome applicants with research interests in all branches of Astronomy, including galaxy formation and evolution, dark matter/dark energy, high-energy astrophysics, extra-solar planets, compact stars, exoplanets and other related fields. The university will provide highly competitive annual salary, housing subsidy, as well start-up research fund.

Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is one of National‘211 Project’ of key construction Universities and in the construction sequence of National World First-class Universities.  The current research areas of the Institute of Astrophysics include Cosmology, Galaxy formation and evolution, gravitational lensing, high-energy astrophysics, compact stars, and machine learning applications in astrophysics.

The basic qualifications for the applicants are: 1) Ph.D. in astronomy or closely related field, 2) a proven track record of excellent research, 3) evidence of the ability to establish and maintain a successful research program, 4) the ability and desire to work in a large, collaborative environment.
