In the Department of Astrophysics (https://astro.univie.ac.at/en/) within the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy of the University of Vienna the position of a 

        Tenure-Track Professorship Data Science Pathways to Galaxy Evolution

(full time position) is to be filled.

We are seeking an outstanding early career scientist who will establish an internationally competitive and innovative research program  at the intersection of astrophysics and data science, combining cutting-edge methodologies with profound fundamental questions in extragalactic astrophysics. Using data-driven approaches to take full advantage of state-of-the-art observations and simulations of galaxies, it seeks to understand key aspects of the formation, growth, and transformation of galaxies across cosmic epochs. This research aligns with the broader astronomical community's efforts to leverage computational advances and large amounts of complex data to unlock the secrets and to gain a deeper understanding of the cosmos
